Scotland's largest independent timber merchants, Rembrand Timber Ltd, have announced the opening of two new depots.
Newton Stewart is due to open in August and Thurso is due to open in September.
Managing Director, George Low said: "With our track record in delivering timber and joinery products to a diversified client base we are excited to be opening two new depots this year to extend our reach across Scotland.
"This brings our branch network to 16 including our Certified Doorsets manufacturing facility which has already seen a substantial financial investment this year with the purchase of a new CNC door router which has tripled our capacity.
"Doorset orders for last month were in excess of £400k. Whilst there is evidence of a slow-down in our industry (largely due to the lack of bank lending) with our growing branch network, experienced, knowledgeable staff and unrivalled service we are in a strong position to weather the storm and we remain confident about the long term prospects for the industry."
Their investment in new branches, refurbishing existing branches, as well as stock and machinery is approaching the £2m level, and we there are other sites in the pipeline.
