Steven Hendry, who works for Mansell, scooped the prestigious Arbroath Guildry award at the ceremony, which took place at the college's Conference Centre.
The 24-year-old began his apprenticeship, which involves a mixture of class learning at the college and practical work on various sites across the Tayside region, with Mansell in 2006.

He said: "I am thrilled to have been named the best carpentry and joinery student. I couldn't have won this without the help of my supervisors at Mansell, Dave Urquhart and Peter Stewart, and I am extremely grateful to them for their support. I look forward to continuing to work as hard as I can at whichever projects and developments I am situated."
Mansell's contracts manager, Andy Crockart, added: "We are delighted that Steven has secured this award. He has shown that he is a hard working, conscientious young man and we are sure that he will have a long and successful career with Mansell.
"Steven's award and the achievements of other younger members of the Mansell team proves that our significant and continued investment in apprenticeship schemes is undoubtedly worthwhile and of great benefit to the future of Mansell."
