Viewpoint, Scotland's oldest Housing Association, has announced the completion of eight refurbished flats in one of their Listed properties at Dick Place in Edinburgh.
These flats form part of Viewpoint's £3.5m redevelopment programme to convert 170 studios and bedsits to one and two bedroom flats which will better meet the needs and aspirations of today's tenants.
The re-development, part funded by the City of Edinburgh Council, the Royal Bank of Scotland and Viewpoint provides further sheltered housing in Edinburgh aimed at people aged 60 years and over. The reconfiguration has been sympathetically carried out retaining many of the original features of the building with some of the apartments having stunning views of Salisbury Crags.
Tenants old and new will be celebrating with Board members, visitors, staff and the construction team at a strawberry fayre on 1 July 2008. All properties are now let through Viewpoint's partnership with the Edindex, Edinburgh's Housing Register.
