CALA Properties and FM Developments have launched a marketing campaign for Tipton Shopping Centre to attract new retailers to the 51,674 sq ft multi-let neighbourhood shopping centre.
The new owners have appointed Birmingham-based retail agents Wright Silverwood. The campaign will target retailers and their agents across the UK, following the introduction of new branding, and the prospect of investment in the centre and in the local transport infrastructure, both of which are expected to boost shopper numbers.
In creating the new brand, the joint venture between Edinburgh-based CALA Properties and FM Developments, which acquired Tipton Shopping Centre in a £3.35 million deal in November 2007, has also planned new signage for the centre, as part of an on-going investment programme.
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council has already started work on a £22m vehicular and pedestrian tunnel to replace the existing level crossing on Owen Street.
This is expected to be completed in August 2010 and should lead to a significant increase in footfall with the expected surge in traffic going past the front door of the centre.
In addition to the retail and office units for let, Wright Silverwood is also marketing two development opportunities comprising further retail units totalling 918 sq m (9,800 sq ft), and nine sibgle or two-bedroom residential flats.
