Terminal Design Event

IStructE is holding an event, Madrid's Barajas Airport 'Preparing for take-off' Designing the new terminal in the Teacher Building, 14-16 St Enoch Square, Glasgow G1 4D on April 29.

As part of the Centenary year, John Veale and Les Postawa will present the details of this internationally recognised award winning project. Winning international competitions was just the beginning of a demanding project to turn an iconic concept into reality.

Political pressure and an unfamiliar construction industry environment combined to transform an unusual design project into an unforgettable experience. The lecture will describe the structural design development of the terminal buildings and the constraints that shaped this process.
