Following complaints that a lamppost has obscured one of Edinburgh's most famous views, officials have decided to move the offending lighting.
The view from Calton Hill's Nelson's Monument in Edinburgh has been obscured by a lamppost.
Planners in Edinburgh have come under fire for erecting a lamppost across the signature viewpoint looking west, down Princes Street.
The lamppost is one of a number which have been put up recently on Calton Hill.
Professional photographer, Colin Prior, said the new post has ruined one of the capital's signature images.
A spokesman for the City of Edinburgh Council said they had ordered the replacement of ageing lampposts in the area to keep the area safe at night.
"There has always been a lamppost in the position in question but this one stands out more because it is new," the spokesman said.
"Obviously we don't envisage a lamppost becoming part of Edinburgh's iconic cityscape so we're going to have it moved."
