J&E Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has sold a 19th Century Category A Listed building, formerly occupied by the Chamber in Panmure Street, Dundee to local property investors John Gibson and Ross Morrison, for an undisclosed price.

The company was acting on behalf of Gordon MacLure of Johnston Carmichael as liquidator of Dundee & Tayside Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

A mixed commercial/residential location comprising retailers, other office uses and education establishments, they now intend to refurbish the property and let it out as office. Up to 10,000 square feet within the building is now available as office space.

Jonathan Reid, surveyor at J&E Shepherd, said: "This recognised landmark city centre building, represented a rare opportunity for an investor to acquire substantial city centre office premises suitable for a variety of different uses.

"The sale of the property for its asking price to a local property company provides encouraging evidence of the confidence local companies have in Dundee’s commercial property market."
