The campaign for upgrading local railway stations in Fife is gathering pace as Lochgelly Community Council chairman Ernie McPherson offers his support to MSP Helen Eadie's campaign.

Mr McPherson wants more work to be carried out to improve facilities for disabled people at Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly and Cardenden stations.

Mr McPherson acknowledged the work that has taken place at Lochgelly such as an extension to the platform to allow for large trains and the installation of lights, CCTV and transparent shelters but said: "Despite all this work there is still only 14 car parking spaces and no access for disabled or mobility impaired people or for mothers with children or prams."

The community council leader has urged people in the surrounding areas to lend their support to Helen Eadie's campaign.
