SELECT has received a special honour from the Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) as part of the organisation's landmark 125th anniversary commemorations.

Scotland's largest construction trade association was presented with the ECA 125th Anniversary Valued Partner Award at the ECA Industry Awards, held at the Hilton London Bankside on Friday 9 October.

The accolade acknowledges SELECT's longstanding collaboration with ECA and its contribution to supporting electrical contractors, promoting technical excellence and helping to raise standards across the electrotechnical sector.

The presentation comes a year after SELECT's own 125th anniversary, when it marked the occasion by presenting ECA with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of the association's historic contribution to the electrical industry.

Steve Bratt, Group CEO of ECA, said: "SELECT has been a valued and trusted partner of ECA for many years and has consistently demonstrated a commitment to supporting contractors, championing quality and advancing the interests of the electrotechnical sector.

"As ECA celebrates 125 years, it was important for us to recognise organisations that have made a significant contribution to our industry and to our work. SELECT is thoroughly deserving of this award and we are delighted to honour the organisation during this special anniversary year."

Sharon Miller, Managing Director of SELECT, said: "We are deeply honoured to receive this special award from ECA at such an important moment in its history.

"ECA has represented and supported electrical contractors for 125 years and has played a hugely significant role in helping shape our industry. This award reflects not only the strong relationship between our two organisations but also our shared commitment to promoting excellence, professionalism and the highest standards of workmanship across the sector by protecting the title of electrian.

"On behalf of everyone at SELECT, I would like to congratulate ECA on reaching this remarkable milestone and thank it for the positive and productive partnership we have enjoyed over many years."

SELECT President Darren Crockett said: "To be recognised by an organisation as respected as ECA is a tremendous honour.

"SELECT and ECA have both spent more than a century championing the interests of electrical contractors and supporting the development of a skilled, professional and highly competent workforce.

"While our organisations represent contractors on either side of the border, we share many common goals and challenges, and our close working relationship continues to deliver benefits for the wider industry. We are extremely proud to receive this award as ECA marks its 125th anniversary."

The ECA Industry Awards formed part of a wider programme of activity marking the association's 125th year, celebrating the people and organisations driving excellence across the electrotechnical and engineering services sector.
