SSEN Transmission is inviting local people to a public consultation later this month on plans to expand the Alyth substation.
The event will be held at Alyth Town Hall on Albert Street between 2pm and 7pm on Tuesday 27 October, offering an opportunity for community members and stakeholders to learn more about the proposals and speak directly with the project team.
The extension would accommodate new equipment next to the current site to support the transition of the substation from 275kV to 400kV operation. The equipment is designed to help maintain and manage voltage levels across the transmission network, supporting the safe and reliable transport of electricity.
Project representatives will be on hand throughout to explain the plans, answer questions and gather views. Attendees can also find out more about the site selection process, environmental considerations and the anticipated project programme.
Louise Anderson, Lead Community Liaison Manager at SSEN Transmission, said: "We're inviting the local community and all interested parties to come along and learn more about our plans to extend Alyth substation.
"Feedback from local communities is an important part of how we develop our projects. This consultation gives people the opportunity to meet the team, ask questions and share their views, which will help us understand local priorities and considerations as we continue to develop our plans.
"We'd encourage anyone with an interest in the project to drop into Alyth Town Hall on Tuesday 27 October, find out more and have their say."
