Work is nearing completion on 40 new council homes at Jackton, East Kilbride.
The Eaglesham View development will offer a blend of cottage flats and family houses for social rent, ranging from two-bedroom to four-bedroom properties.
Barratt Homes is constructing the homes on behalf of South Lanarkshire Council as part of a wider 294-unit, mixed-tenure scheme, with part-funding from the Scottish Government's More Homes Division.
Once finished, the properties will be added to the council's housing stock. They form part of the council's current affordable housing supply programme, which remains on track to deliver more than 1,000 additional homes by 31 March 2027. Initial handovers are scheduled for December 2026, with final handovers expected in March 2027.
Chair of the council's Housing and Technical Resources Committee, Councillor Davie McLachlan, said: "It's fantastic news that we are continuing to make progress in improving the availability of high-quality social housing across South Lanarkshire.
"The important thing is that we are making a difference by providing more affordable social housing, of a variety that meets the needs of local people while maintaining affordability and value for money."
Andy Curran, managing director, Barratt Homes West Scotland, said: "We're pleased to be working in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council once again to deliver these 40 new affordable homes at Eaglesham View in Jackton.
"As a housebuilder, we recognise the important role we play in helping to meet the need for high-quality homes across the communities where we build. These new homes will provide a mix of accommodation for local people and families, helping to support a thriving and sustainable community in Jackton.
"We look forward to seeing the first homes completed and handed over to the council later this year, marking an important milestone for the development and for the families who will call Eaglesham View home."
