The Morris & Spottiswood Group has opened a new office in Inverness, a move that reflects increasing investment in Scotland's energy grid.
The expansion broadens the Group's national reach from London to Inverness, pairing regional expertise with the capacity and support of a UK-wide organisation.
Newly appointed Divisional Director, Martin Bell, is leading the growth. Tasked with establishing and expanding the Group's presence across the Highlands and the north of Scotland, Bell is a chartered electrical engineer with nearly two decades of experience delivering projects in the Inverness area. He joins the Morris & Spottiswood Group from RYBKA.
Speaking about his appointment, Martin commented: "Opening our Inverness office is an exciting step for the Morris & Spottiswood Group and reflects the growing construction and infrastructure opportunities across the region. With significant investment taking place as part of the energy transition, we are well placed to support clients with our breadth of expertise and, importantly, our ability to bring those services together to provide a truly integrated approach.
"While the energy sector represents a significant opportunity for growth, our experience extends across a wide range of markets. We have a strong track record in delivering successful projects for retail, production & manufacturing, defence, finance, commercial and public-sector clients, including education and other community-focused facilities. Not to mention our work in the energy sector with the likes of Scottish Power Energy Networks, Scottish & Southern Energy, Clark Energy and Nadara. Our aim is to bring that depth of experience, combined with the scale and resources of the wider Group, closer to clients across the region."
The Inverness launch consolidates the Group's integrated end-to-end service in the north of Scotland, following the recent completion of a commercial refurbishment and CAT B fit-out for Apache in Aberdeen.
That high-specification project combined expertise from across the Morris & Spottiswood Group in a single, streamlined programme delivered in a live, multi-occupied environment: Morris & Spottiswood handled the fit-out, bespoke joinery and flooring; Livingston delivered the M&E works; McLennan acted as Principal Designer; and Inspire Spaces provided furniture, fixtures and equipment to create a contemporary workplace tailored to Apache's current and future needs.
Looking ahead, the Group plans to develop the Inverness office into a full local team, including apprenticeship opportunities, as part of a longer-term commitment to the region's construction community.
