More council houses are being delivered across the Dunfermline area, while tenant satisfaction with local housing services remains high.
An update on the Dunfermline Area Housing Plan was presented to the City of Dunfermline Area Committee.
During 2025/26, 85 new council houses were completed across the Dunfermline area. A further 57 homes are under construction in Milesmark, Duloch and South Dunfermline, and are expected to be finished by March 2027. Another 95 homes in Dunfermline North and Abbeyview are due for completion by September 2027.
The report highlights a continuing need for affordable housing, particularly larger family homes and properties designed for people with specific needs.
Tenant satisfaction improved over the past year: overall satisfaction with neighbourhood management increased from 85.59% to 85.85%; satisfaction with opportunities to participate in housing decisions rose from 81.08% to 82.08%; more than 86% of tenants said their rent represents good value for money, up from 84.23%; and 83.96% were satisfied with how well they are kept informed, a figure above the Fife average.
The council is continuing to invest in existing homes, including upgrades to kitchens, bathrooms, central heating systems, roofs and electrical installations.
Councillor Judy Hamilton, Fife Council's Spokesperson for Housing and Building Services, said: "We know that having access to a good-quality home can make a real difference to people's lives. That's why we're continuing to invest in new council houses across Dunfermline while also improving the homes our tenants already live in.
"It's encouraging to see tenant satisfaction remain high. By listening to tenants and responding to their feedback, we can continue to deliver services that meet the needs of local communities."
Councillor James Calder, Convener of the City of Dunfermline Area Committee, said: "Providing good-quality, affordable homes remains one of our key priorities. It is encouraging to see new homes being delivered across the area, with more on the way. It's also positive that tenant satisfaction remains high. We will continue working with tenants and communities to improve housing services across Dunfermline."
The plan also sets out work to improve communal areas, support tenants to move to homes that better meet their needs, and address housing demand across the area.
