Sustainable manufacturer HAHN Plastics UK (HPUK) has announced the appointment of William Paterson as its new Business Development Manager for Scotland and the North East. The move forms part of the firm's wider strategy to accelerate commercial growth and build greater awareness of recycled plastic as a superior alternative for long-term outdoor infrastructure.

Joining the Greater Manchester-headquartered manufacturer, William brings more than 20 years of experience in construction material sales. His extensive background spans the construction, oil and gas, and energy sectors, alongside specialist industries including data centres, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverage.

In his new role, William will focus on expanding HPUK's market presence across Scotland and the North East. His responsibilities include cultivating relationships with current and prospective clients while driving new opportunities for the company's extensive portfolio of recycled plastic products.

His appointment comes as HPUK continues a major investment phase in both its workforce and domestic operations, following a multi-million-pound enhancement of its Greater Manchester production site designed to advance the use of post-consumer plastic in manufacturing.

Commenting on his appointment, William Paterson said: "It's great to be joining at what is clearly an exciting time for HAHN Plastics, and I'm looking forward to working for a business that puts sustainability and innovation at its core.

"There is a huge opportunity for the business to grow in Scotland and the North East, and I'm excited to get out into the market, build new relationships and help more organisations understand what recycled plastics can offer.

"It's a business with ambitious plans for the future, and I'm looking forward to playing my part in its growth."

Max Cardona, General Manager at HPUK, added: "We're delighted to welcome William to HPUK at a time when we're continuing to invest significantly in our operations and people.

"He brings more than two decades of experience in many of the markets we operate in, and I know his knowledge and understanding of those sectors will be a real asset as we continue to develop commercial relationships across Scotland and the North East.

"We see significant opportunities to grow our presence across both regions, and William will play an important role in building new relationships, strengthening existing ones and helping us introduce HAHN Plastics to new customers and markets."

Established in 1993, HPUK is an industry leader in manufacturing high-quality alternatives to virgin plastic, timber, concrete, and steel using 100% recycled plastic waste. The business repurposes post-consumer waste into long-lasting, durable products, such as its hanit® range, driving sustainable manufacturing and supporting the circular economy.
