Three key approaches into Falkirk town centre are to be given a colourful refresh as part of ongoing regeneration, with new lighting designed for everyday use and capable of switching colours for special events and occasions.
Work is now under way, having started in the week beginning 7 September, and is scheduled to finish within two to three weeks. Access to businesses and properties will be maintained throughout, with steps in place to minimise disruption for pedestrians.
The programme builds on recent improvements across the town centre, including upgraded ironwork, cleaning and refurbishment, enhanced CCTV, new seating and other public realm investment to make the area more welcoming for residents and visitors.
It also signals a fresh approach to amenity lighting, aiming to help public spaces feel safer, more inviting and better used into the evening.
Kings Court has already seen repainting, cleaning and ironwork upgrades; the new lighting will add to these changes and further enhance this important route to and from the High Street.
When complete, the installations are intended to create distinctive gateways into the town centre that complement the character of the surrounding area.
Councillor Paul Garner, Depute Leader of Falkirk Council said: "These improvements will make a real difference to some of the busiest routes leading to Falkirk High Street.
"The feature lighting will help create a brighter and more attractive centre while giving us the flexibility to mark special events and occasions throughout the year.
"This investment is another step in our wider work to support Falkirk town centre for residents, visitors and local businesses."
