Industry stakeholders will come together in Inverness next month to examine how Scotland can speed up the rollout of energy-efficient buildings and clean heat.

BE-ST Fest North will take place at Eden Court, Inverness, on 6 October. The free-to-attend programme offers a day of discussion, insight and practical action on heating homes and buildings efficiently, affordably and at scale.

As part of BE-ST Fest 2026, this year's regional series is built around the theme 'Driving Delivery', with each stop addressing the specific opportunities and challenges in its area.

The North edition will focus on heat and energy efficiency, uniting participants from the built environment, energy, housing, public and community sectors.

Victoria Erasmus of Turas Hotels will outline how the business implemented a clean heat project. Jenni Marchant of Community Energy Scotland will deliver a keynote on the importance of community participation in the energy system, drawing on initiatives including Rural Energy Hubs and the CARES Community Energy Launchpad.

A panel session will explore how Scotland can build a skilled, resilient and locally rooted supply chain to deliver heat decarbonisation and energy-efficiency projects, while afternoon workshops will cover topics including skills and training and innovation support.

Discussions throughout the day will consider the roles of technology, infrastructure, skills, finance, supply chains and local delivery, and how different parts of the system need to work together.
