Alumno has marked the topping out of Woodlands Point, its purpose-built student accommodation on St George's Road in Glasgow's West End, confirming the main structural frame is complete for the six-storey, 262-bed scheme. Representatives from Alumno, main contractor Clark Contracts and the wider project team attended the ceremony.

Positioned within the vibrant Woodlands district, close to the city centre and a range of shops, bars, restaurants and cultural venues, the development has been designed to integrate with the existing neighbourhood while helping address strong demand for student housing in the city.

The residence will comprise a mix of four- and five-bed cluster flats alongside studio apartments. Shared amenities will include a ground-floor common room, sixth-floor dining, study and lounge areas, and landscaped courtyard spaces to the rear.

The project is funded by Henderson Park, with the professional team including Stallan Brand Architects, RankinFraser Landscape Architecture, Will Rudd Davidson, Ridge and Partners and Sound Advice Acoustics.

With the main structure in place, work is progressing on the building's façade, interiors and landscaping, with completion scheduled ahead of the 2027 academic year.
