Five-star housebuilder Cruden Homes has broken ground on a residential development at Kirkton Road, Neilston, advancing plans for 90 new homes in the area.

The scheme will deliver 66 properties for private sale across a mix of three- and four-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached homes, alongside 24 affordable homes.

Initial site preparation is under way ahead of the main build, which will progress over the coming months. The first timber kits are expected on site early next year, with the first homes scheduled to complete next summer.

The project retains existing proposals for the road layout, access points from Kirkton Road and the wider landscape strategy, and will add new tree planting, sustainable drainage features and walking routes linking to nearby green space.

Homes will incorporate energy-efficient measures, including air-source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging provision, underpinning Cruden's focus on more sustainable, energy-efficient communities.

The plans also account for the site's historic standing stone, which will be carefully removed during groundworks and reinstated later as a focal feature within the development.
