Footway resurfacing on the A73 at Westport in Lanark will take place for up to four days from Monday, 21 September.
To ensure the safety of workers and pedestrians, temporary traffic lights will be in operation for motorists between no. 22 and the junction with Jerviswood Road, daily from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm for the duration of the works.
Colin Park, Head of Roads, Transportation, and Fleet Services, said: "The footway improvements in Westport are essential to improve the surface for all users. In this case, temporary traffic management is needed on the road too, to ensure the safety of the team on site. We fully appreciate the inconvenience the work might cause and thank the community in advance for their patience and cooperation, and ask motorists to build in additional journey time if they can."
