Construction and manufacturing group CCG has completed a multi-year fire door replacement programme on behalf of South Lanarkshire Council.
The Glasgow-based firm began the £10m contract in late 2022 and finished the final phase earlier this summer, fitting 4,000 door sets across 1,700 residences and 20 high-rise apartment blocks in Cambuslang, East Kilbride, Rutherglen and Hamilton.
Every phase was delivered end-to-end by CCG's in-house divisions.
CCG Manufacturing, operating across three window and door fabrication hubs in Cambuslang, fully completed each engineered timber door set — including the leaf and frame — prior to leaving the factory.
The programme utilised CCG's Q-Mark and Secured by Design-certified FD60 range, including accessible main entrance, common passage and store, and flat entrance styles, each offering up to 60 minutes' fire resistance and measures to prevent the passage of smoke in an emergency.
Head of Housing Services, Sharon Egan, said: "It's great news that this substantial project has now been completed.
"The specification of the doors ultimately combines to help safeguard the lives of both residents and emergency personnel in the event of a fire, while also delivering improved security.
"On behalf of the council, I would like to thank CCG for completing the work on our behalf."
Jim Cunningham, CCG Asset Management Manager, said: "CCG gives our sincere thanks to South Lanarkshire Council for the trust and support they have shown us over the last three and a half years. We are extremely proud of the contract – from our operatives in the factories to our teams on the ground, every person worked to the best of their abilities, evidencing the advantages of direct procurement, partnership working and CCG's overall supply-and-fit capabilities."
The South Lanarkshire Council Fire Door Replacement Programme was procured through the Scottish Procurement Alliance.
