Aberdeenshire Council has launched the sale of two key development opportunities in Fraserburgh and Inverurie as part of its ongoing asset strategy.
In Fraserburgh, the former Iceberg fish processing facility on South Harbour Road has been listed with offers sought in excess of £430,000. The property includes two industrial buildings: a main processing unit featuring ancillary offices, changing rooms and WCs with extensive frontage onto South Harbour Road, and a former engine shed used for storage with an ancillary WC and office.
In Inverurie, the council is again inviting offers for the former Harlaw Day Centre site, a 3-acre plot located a short distance north of the town centre. The site is currently designated as BUS1 and reserved for business use in the 2023 Local Development Plan.
All former buildings on the Harlaw site have been demolished and cleared, creating a redevelopment opportunity. The council says it aims to secure an offer that benefits the local community, supports the wider local economy and achieves best value for the authority.
Aberdeenshire Council Co-Leader and chair of its Business Services Committee, Cllr Stewart Adams, said: "Securing best value through the sale of vacant properties and sites is absolutely critical for the council and we need to make informed, strategic decisions which balance a timely financial return for us as a council against long-term social and economic outcomes.
He added: "As the largest single provider of business land and premises in Aberdeenshire, we can offer a range of premises to accommodate a number of commercial operations. I would invite interested parties to make contact with us as early as possible to discuss any potential developments in more detail."
