Luceco Boosts SELECT Training With Fresh EV Charger Donation

Construction News Image

SELECT has strengthened its collaboration with the Luceco Group after receiving another donation of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment to enhance its training courses.

Luceco Area Sales Manager Steve Conn visited SELECT's headquarters last week to deliver four premium Sync Energy EV chargers. The drop-off comprised both tethered and untethered Sync Energy EV chargers, alongside two new Sync Energy Link units.

The contribution follows similar donations of BG Sync EV charging stations in 2023 and 2024, which are now embedded in SELECT's EV charge point installation training course.

Robert McGoogan, Director of Technical Services at SELECT, said: "We are extremely grateful to Luceco Group for this further donation, which will continue to help us deliver in-depth demonstrations of modern charging units to Members and other industry delegates.

"Our partnership with Luceco Group is an excellent example of the close relationships we've developed with leading manufacturers through our Associate Membership scheme."

Jenny Cryans, Training Manager at SELECT, added: "These four units are extremely welcome and will help us continue delivering essential EV charge point training across Scotland."

The equipment was formally handed over to Robert and SELECT Technical Manager Bruce Findlay by Steve during a visit to The Walled Garden on Monday 10 August.

Steve said: "We are delighted to be able to continue our excellent partnership with SELECT by donating these four Sync Energy charging units.

"We are also pleased to hear that our units continue to play a central role in the association's EV training course thanks to their simple set-up and intuitive features."

The Sync Energy Link EV charger delivers consistent dynamic charging up to 7.4 kW (32A), providing reliable overnight top-ups and day-to-day use. Compatible with all Type 2 EVs, it can be recessed or surface mounted for a sleek, low-profile finish, and is built for durable, weather-resistant performance on garages, driveways and home exteriors.

Designed for ease and efficiency, the Sync Energy EV charger offers fast 7.4 kW residential charging with seamless solar integration, plus full app control and scheduling. Available with a choice of nine faceplate covers, it also includes Tariff Sense and Auto Solar Charge as standard.
