Aberdeen Community Facilities Set For £27.164 Million Upgrade Programme

Community facilities across Aberdeen are set for a package of repairs and upgrades after the council approved the latest phase of its Condition & Suitability Programme.

The £27.164 million programme, spanning the next three financial years, was agreed by the Council's Finance and Resources Committee yesterday and targets council buildings prioritised for investment.

Council Co-Leader Ian Yuill said: "This investment is vital to make sure people have access to good quality community centres and community facilities across Aberdeen. Volunteer-run leased community centres in particular do a fantastic for their local communities."

Committee convener Councillor Alex McLellan said: "I know just how important community centres are to our communities, and we are committed to investing in our buildings to ensure these facilities remain open and accessible."

The planned works include:

- Craigielea Family Centre – boiler replacements;

- Deeside Family Centre – resurfacing of the car park and access road;

- Deeside Family Centre – replacement automated front door;

- Ferryhill Community Centre – window replacements;

- Froghall Learning Centre – boiler replacements;

- Kingswells Community Centre – roof replacement and repairs;

- Loirston Annexe Community Centre – final phase of roof replacements and refurbishment;

- The Quarry Centre – replacement fascias and rainwater goods, plus canopy refurbishment;

- Rosemount Learning Centre – upgrade of male toilets;

- Sheddocksley Community Centre – replacement flat roofs;

- Tullos Learning Centre – toilet upgrades;

- Rosemount Learning Centre – boiler upgrades.
