Arc-Tech (Scotland), the Glasgow-headquartered mechanical, electrical and renewables contractor, has confirmed six apprentices will join the business in August 2026 across its electrical and plumbing trades.

Aged between seventeen and nineteen, the new recruits take the total number of apprentices employed by Arc-Tech to 19, as the firm continues to scale as one of Scotland's leading building services contractors, delivering mechanical, electrical and renewable packages for clients in both the private and public sectors.

Founded in 2016, Arc-Tech has grown from a small founding team to a workforce of 120, generating annual turnover in excess of £35m.

The company supports projects across multiple sectors, including tailored solar and renewable heating solutions and fire suppression systems for new-build housing, commercial and industrial developments.

Arc-Tech has also established a strong presence in the care sector, having supported the delivery of 13 care homes across 10 Scottish local authority areas since 2016, representing more than 600 private bed spaces and set to exceed 800 by the end of 2027.

The new apprentices will combine on-site experience with structured college learning and mentoring from experienced engineers, working towards industry-recognised qualifications across a range of disciplines.

The latest intake comes amid sharply rising demand for skilled M&E trades across Scotland, driven by new housing delivery, the retrofit and energy-efficiency agenda, and the wider transition to net zero heat and power systems.

Arc-Tech says its apprenticeship programme is a direct response to this skills gap and the risk it poses to the pace of delivery across the sector.

All of this year's graduates have been retained in permanent roles within the business, while four staff members are involved in a form of traineeship, which Arc-Tech cites as evidence of the strength of its culture and the career progression routes available to young people.
