RES Secures Safety Contract For East Anglia TWO

Construction News Image

ScottishPower Renewables has selected RES to deliver Safety from the System and Operational Control services for its East Anglia TWO offshore windfarm.

The agreement will support around 25 specialist positions in the Lowestoft and Ipswich areas, helping to retain high-voltage expertise locally. RES also intends to prioritise UK suppliers where feasible and work with locally based subcontractors to keep more value in the domestic supply chain.

Safety from the System is the foundational framework that ensures assets are safely isolated, risks are actively managed and teams can work with confidence throughout the programme.

The award, which starts in 2027, builds on RES's ongoing support for ScottishPower's biggest-ever windfarm, East Anglia THREE, enabling continuity of team, expertise and approach across the company's East Anglia projects.

Simon Deacon, Regional O&M Director, Northern Europe and Global Offshore Director at RES, said: "Winning this award for EA TWO is exactly the kind of recognition that matters most – not just a contract, but a clear signal that how we manage safety in complex high-voltage environments builds lasting trust. Our people have delivered consistently on East Anglia THREE, and we look forward to carrying the same standards and the same rigour as we grow our EA TWO team and get going from 2027."

Michael Hotze, SPR's EA2 TWO Project Execution Director, said: "It's great to welcome RES to our East Anglia TWO project to support our efforts to bring even more homegrown clean power to the grid. As a trusted UK supply chain partner, this contract is another great example of how our projects are not only supporting a clean energy future, but boosting order books and helping drive economic growth. We look forward to building on the successful partnership established on East Anglia THREE."
