BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, has reported strong progress on the rockslope stabilisation scheme at Ledaig on the A828.

On the northern part of the slope, installation of the rockfall protection mesh is largely finished. Crews are currently installing the remaining rock anchors, and minor stitching works are still required. Once this stage is complete, the temporary barrier systems used during construction will be removed.

Subject to favourable weather and continued on-site progress, this phase is expected to conclude by the end of August 2026.

After the current activities are completed, work will pause while BEAR Scotland’s geotechnical specialists finalise the design for the next and final phase. To safeguard road users and the workforce, 24-hour temporary traffic lights will remain in operation during this period.

Further details on the final phase will be shared in the coming weeks once proposals are confirmed.
