Farrans has received a RoSPA Gold Award for its work in the Scotland region, highlighting the company's commitment to preventing accidents and upholding exemplary safety standards.
The business says it goes beyond basic compliance on health, safety and wellbeing, embedding continual improvement and a culture of care for employees, suppliers, contractors, clients and the communities in which it operates.
Farrans' initiatives include a management system designed to promote safe working everywhere, Time Out for Safety events with its supply chain, regular Tool Box Talks, award-winning mental health training, and collaborations with organisations such as Lighthouse and the Make It Visible campaign.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the RoSPA Awards. What began as a small UK recognition scheme has grown into the world's largest and most prestigious health and safety awards programme, with the 2026 awards drawing 2,000 entries from nearly 60 countries.
The application process encourages reflective practice to help entrants raise their standards, supports continuing professional development (CPD), and emphasises ongoing learning to reduce workplace accidents. By receiving a RoSPA Award, Farrans joins a long-standing legacy of organisations dedicated to safeguarding workers and the public.
Julia Small, RoSPA's Growth Director, said: "2026 is a landmark year for the RoSPA Awards as we reflect on how far workplace safety has come in 70 years. It is because of the commitment of health and safety leaders like Farrans, that people today are safer at work than in the past, and sets an inspiring example for the future."
The RoSPA Awards are sponsored by the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), a leading global organisation that provides internationally recognised health, safety and environmental qualifications to enhance competence among safety and environmental professionals as well as individuals at all levels in the workplace.
Dee Arp, NEBOSH Chief Quality Officer and the Head Judge of the RoSPA Awards, said: "NEBOSH is proud to be the headline sponsor of the RoSPA Awards. They provide an opportunity to celebrate excellence in health and safety, while also helping to strengthen a culture of care, accountability and continuous improvement. These awards are a powerful reminder that protecting people transcends borders, and that supporting employees to return home safe, healthy and happy each day is fundamental to long-term success and resilience."
