The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland has named the winners of its 2026 awards, with two CCG projects among 10 'outstanding buildings' selected from a 14-strong shortlist revealed in March.

RIAS, which champions architecture and the built environment in Scotland, runs one of the country's most prestigious annual award programmes.

Among the winners is St Andrews Drive Phase 2 & 3, a CCG-delivered housing scheme for Southside Housing Association in Glasgow's south side. Designed by JM Architects, it provides 120 homes for social and mid-market rent, set within a landscape-led masterplan prioritising residents' wellbeing and wider community benefit.

Paisley Central Library also took an award. Designed by Collective Architecture, the project transforms former shopfronts on Paisley High Street into a new education hub, consolidating services and improving access to IT for school pupils across Renfrewshire.

This year's judging panel — who during site visits even had to commandeer a fishing boat — was chaired by Chris Dyson of Chris Dyson Architects, with members including Elilidh Izat, director at Izat Arundell, Owen Hopkins, director of the Farrell Centre, and Anna Liu, director at Tonkin Liu and the jury's RIBA Awards representative.

Dyson said: 'The projects in this year's top 10 were exceptional: our visits and reviews were rigorous and gave us the time and space to appreciate in full the great care and consideration given to craftsmanship, responses to climate change and placemaking.

'In total, our travelling panel covered 850 miles. Scotland really showed us its richness of its urban and natural landscapes and the outstanding quality of architecture being produced within them.'

Outgoing RIAS President Karen Anderson said: 'The RIAS Awards once again demonstrate that great architecture adds value across Scottish society. These 10 projects show just how much well-designed buildings, and the re-invention and careful stewardship of our heritage, can give joy and improve our day-to-day lives whether at work, at leisure or at home.
