Amey, operating on behalf of Transport Scotland, is carrying out vital bridge investigations across the M8 Kingston Bridge Complex. The engineering scheme, which got underway on Monday 18th May, is scheduled to run until Saturday 13th June 2026.
The primary phase of the physical works requires the round-the-clock closure of the M8 Junction 19 Waterloo Street on-slip road, commencing Sunday 24th May and lasting until Tuesday 9th June 2026. Alongside this 24/7 slip road closure, additional temporary restrictions will be deployed on the M8 westbound mainline, including narrowed running lanes and a reduced speed limit. Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times.
The project has been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, Glasgow City Council, First Bus, Stagecoach, McGill's, SPT, the Hilton Glasgow, and the Glasgow Marriott Hotel. Because the various schemes are weather-dependent, components of the work may be postponed or rescheduled if conditions prove unfavourable.
