Arc-Tech Highlights Strong Record in Scottish Care Sector

Arc-Tech (Scotland) is celebrating its 10-year anniversary in 2026 by highlighting its expanding portfolio of high-quality mechanical and electrical (M&E) services for new-build projects within the Scottish care sector.

Since 2016, the firm has supported the construction of 13 care homes across 11 local authority areas. Working alongside various contractor and developer partners, the company has helped establish modern, purpose-built facilities for nursing, elderly residential, and dementia care.

These projects, encompassing both completed works and developments currently under construction, account for more than 600 private bed spaces. This figure is projected to rise to over 800 beds by the close of 2027. Additionally, the projects include 134 bed spaces for charitable organisations and local authority clients.

The division has established a reputation for providing compliant, complex, and energy-efficient solutions customized to the operational demands of care providers. Each project supports an average of 10 contract staff, 10 sub-contractors, and two trade apprentices.

The company's turnkey mechanical and electrical services encompass life-safety systems, fire suppression, heating and ventilation, lighting, sanitary ware, and data and communications infrastructure.

At present, Arc-Tech is on-site assisting with the construction of new care homes in Linlithgow and Clarkston for the Morrison Community Care Group, a UK-wide developer. Furthermore, the company has secured two additional contract awards for projects in Edinburgh and South Ayrshire for a national care operator, with delivery phases scheduled to commence later this year.

As care operators invest in future-proofed residences, Arc-Tech's experience in managing live programmes, meeting rigid regulatory demands, and collaborating with designers and contractors has become a primary differentiator.

Reflecting on the milestone, John Gallacher, Arc-Tech (Scotland) Managing Director, said: "Reaching our 10th anniversary is an important moment for Arc‑Tech, and it's fitting that we can mark it by reflecting on the scale of our contribution to the Scottish care sector.

"These purpose-built residences are highly technical, safety‑critical environments, and we're proud of the trust placed in us by our partners to help deliver care homes that support comfort, dignity and long‑term operational resilience."

The care sector is now a core growth area for Arc-Tech, aligning with broader demographic changes and ongoing investment in specialist housing to accommodate Scotland's aging population. Backed by a strong pipeline of upcoming work and established partnerships, the business is well-positioned to continue delivering reliable M&E solutions to care providers over the coming decade.
