Morrison Construction is celebrating widespread recognition at this year's Scottish Design Awards, with six of its projects shortlisted across multiple categories, including education and commercial sectors.
Now in its 29th year, the Scottish Design Awards honour Scotland's most inspiring architecture and creativity, alongside the professionals behind the work. Judged by industry peers who understand local contexts and challenges, the awards offer a national platform dedicated to projects shaped by the country's people, places, and culture.
The company achieved a dominant position in the Education Building or Project category, securing four out of the five available nominations. The shortlisted entries include Earlston Primary School, Hawkhill Primary School, the West Calder High School Extension, and Whitecraig Primary School and Early Years Centre. The accomplishment underscores the firm's established track record in constructing innovative, high-quality learning environments throughout Scotland.
Morrison Construction has also been named a finalist in the Commercial/Office/Hotel Building or Project category. It earned nominations for the Health Innovation Hub in Glasgow and the Royal Dornoch Clubhouse in the Highlands, demonstrating the scope of the company's building expertise across different sectors.
Furthermore, the Northern Meeting Park project, located in the Highlands, picked up nominations in two distinct sections: the Public Building category and the Conservation category.
David Ewing, Managing Director for Morrison Construction Building Central, said: "To receive this level of recognition across multiple categories is a fantastic achievement for our teams and partners.
"Having four out of five shortlisted projects in the education category is particularly special and reflects the expertise, collaboration and commitment that goes into delivering inspiring spaces for communities across Scotland."
Gordon Williamson, Managing Director for Morrison Construction Building Highland, added: "We are delighted to see the Royal Dornoch Clubhouse and Northern Meeting Park recognised at this year's awards. The project is a fantastic example of collaborative working and quality delivery in a unique and prestigious setting."
