The A876 over the Clackmannanshire Bridge will be shut for three nights from Tuesday 28 to Thursday 30 April to allow Transport Scotland's operating company, BEAR Scotland, to undertake routine works including grass cutting, drainage cleaning, sign cleaning, detailed inspections and road sweeping.
The carriageway will be closed in both directions each night from 20:30 until 06:00 between Higgins Neuk Roundabout and M876 Junction 3 (Bowtrees).
A signed diversion will route traffic via the A985 Kincardine Bridge and the A977, adding around five minutes and 1.6 miles to journeys.
In addition, lane closures will be in place on Monday 27 April and Friday 1 May.
Emergency services and other stakeholders have been consulted in advance of the programme.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland's South East Network Manager, said: "We'll use these overnight closures on the A876 to carry out as many routine maintenance tasks as possible, reducing the overall need for closures and traffic management.
"It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close the carriageway while work is taking place. Our advice if you need to use the A876 at night during this period is to plan ahead and allow a few extra minutes for your journey.
"We're grateful to road users and the local community for their understanding."
