Vattenfall has commenced construction of its Clashindarroch II onshore wind farm near Huntly in Aberdeenshire.
The project sits alongside the existing Clashindarroch wind farm, which comprises 18 turbines with a total capacity of 30 MW and has been producing renewable power for more than a decade.
Clashindarroch II will feature 14 turbines delivering up to 63 MW of capacity, expected to generate electricity equivalent to the annual needs of around 61,000 homes.
Preparatory works are under way, with main construction due to start in spring and first power targeted for summer 2027. A staff compound is visible at the site entrance, with further compounds within the site. More information is available at www.vattenfall.co.uk/our-projects/clashindarrochII, and feedback, questions and comments are welcomed via the project email address.
