Persimmon Homes West Scotland has set out proposals for a development off Fairholm Avenue alongside a package worth more than £2 million to support local infrastructure and education.
The scheme will deliver a mix of properties from three‑bedroom terraces to five‑bedroom detached houses, aimed at first‑time buyers, growing families and downsizers.
Community contributions totalling over £2 million include:
- £950,000 for affordable housing provision
- £823,000 for education to expand and improve local schools
- £226,000 for wider infrastructure and services
- £189,000 for road safety and connectivity upgrades
The project is also expected to boost the local economy, creating around 110 on‑site jobs and supporting a further 83 roles across the supply chain.
Persimmon recently acquired the site after securing planning permission from South Lanarkshire Council.
Craig Moore, Land Director of Persimmon Homes West Scotland, said: "Ferniegair is a fantastic location, and we're pleased to be bringing forward plans that will deliver much-needed new homes alongside real investment in the local community.
"This development is about more than just housing. It will support local schools, improve infrastructure, create jobs, and provide a range of high-quality, energy-efficient homes for people at different stages of life. We're looking forward to starting work on site and delivering a high-quality development for local residents."
Work is expected to begin after final preparations, with the homes set to play a key role in meeting the needs of Ferniegair's growing community.
