Arc-Tech Celebrates Decade of Growth with Major Care Sector Milestone

Arc-Tech (Scotland) is celebrating its 10-year anniversary in 2026 by showcasing its significant role in the Scottish care sector, having delivered high-quality mechanical and electrical (M&E) services for numerous new-build care facilities.

Since the company began operations in 2016, it has supported the development of 13 care homes across 11 different local authority areas. Working with various developers and contractors, the firm has helped create modern environments for nursing, residential, and dementia care. These projects account for more than 600 private bed spaces—a figure expected to exceed 800 by the end of 2027—alongside 134 beds for charitable organisations and local authorities.

The company has established a reputation for managing the complex regulatory and energy-efficiency requirements of the sector. On average, each project supports 10 contract staff, 10 sub-contractors, and two trade apprentices. Arc-Tech provides turnkey services including heating, ventilation, lighting, fire suppression, life-safety systems, and data communications.

Currently, the firm is active on sites in Clarkston and Linlithgow for the Morrison Community Care Group. It has also secured two additional contracts for a national care operator in Edinburgh and South Ayrshire, which are scheduled to begin later this year.

John Gallacher, Arc-Tech (Scotland) Managing Director, said: "Reaching our 10th anniversary is an important moment for Arc-Tech, and it's fitting that we can mark it by reflecting on the scale of our contribution to the Scottish care sector.

"These purpose-built residences are highly technical, safety-critical environments, and we're proud of the trust placed in us by our partners to help deliver care homes that support comfort, dignity and long-term operational resilience."

With an ageing population driving demand for specialist accommodation, the care sector has become a primary growth area for the business. Backed by a strong pipeline of upcoming work, Arc-Tech remains positioned to provide reliable M&E solutions for care providers throughout the next decade.
