Livingston company John Heaney (Electrical) Ltd (JHE) has supported the West Lothian Community Foundation (WLCF) by donating 60 tickets for a visit to the Scottish Football Museum and Hampden Park.
The donation allowed children participating in the foundation's Easter camps to visit the National Stadium in Glasgow. The day included a behind-the-scenes stadium tour and a coaching session on the indoor warm-up pitch, providing participants with an insight into the history and operations of the venue ahead of its role as a host for EURO 2028.
Leaghann Watson, WLCF general manager, said: "We would like to say a massive 'thank-you' to John Heaney Electrical for their incredibly generous support with their donation of tickets to the Scottish Football Museum at Hampden Park. Because of this, we were able to keep our Easter camp prices low and affordable, ensuring more children across West Lothian could take part in a truly special experience.
"In a World Cup year, with Scotland qualifying for the first time in our youngsters' lifetimes, it felt especially important they had the chance to visit Hampden Park, learn about our footballing history and be inspired by it.
"Without the support of JHE, this is something that many children simply wouldn't have had the opportunity to experience. This is what real community support looks like - creating memories, opening doors and giving young people opportunities they will never forget.
"We are committed to keeping our camps accessible, varied and impactful for the young people and families we support and companies like John Heaney Electrical truly put the 'community' into West Lothian Community Foundation."
Focusing on industrial and commercial work, JHE services a UK-wide client base from its headquarters in Livingston, although helping the local community has always been a priority for Managing Director Mark Heaney – the firm are the official charity partner of West Lothian counselling service SMILE.
"We were delighted to play a part in the Easter camps being organised by the West Lothian Community Federation with our donation of tickets to the Scottish Football Museum," said Mr Heaney.
"Hearing how much all the local young people enjoyed the experience at Hampden Park is very pleasing and hopefully it is something they will remember for a long time. Who knows, maybe it will inspire some future Scotland football stars!"
