Six community initiatives will receive support from the Inch Cape Construction Fund following the second round of grants for 2026.

The recipients are Prestonpans Children's Gala, Port Seton Centre Management Committee, Edinburgh African Women's Network, Shorelark Arts CIC and Harlawhill Day Care Centre.

Prestonpans Children's Gala will receive £2,000 to help stage the long-running annual event, which has brought local families together since 1949.

Port Seton Centre Management Committee has been awarded £2,000 to run a weekly, affordable and inclusive dance-based exercise class for disadvantaged adults, and a further £2,000 to operate Youth Gym training sessions for eight to 15-year-olds to support physical and mental health.

Edinburgh African Women's Network will receive £1,900 to deliver a full-day summer business skills workshop for BAME women in East Lothian. Shorelark Arts CIC has been granted £1,940 to run a free five-day creative summer camp for children and families exploring coastal heritage. Harlawhill Day Care Centre will receive £2,000 for a 12-week intergenerational music and movement programme to break down barriers, increase dementia awareness and improve participant wellbeing.

The Inch Cape Construction Fund, administered by independent funder Foundation Scotland, has £45,000 available for community projects in 2026 and is now in its third year.

Applications are accepted year-round, with grants awarded roughly every three months. Groups benefiting residents nearest the project's onshore substation works — Cockenzie and Port Seton, and Prestonpans — are encouraged to apply, particularly for activities that improve physical or mental health, reduce isolation, widen access to learning and employment, enhance the local environment, or tackle food or fuel poverty.
