DM Hall, one of Scotland's prominent independent chartered surveying firms, has selected SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health) as a corporate charity partner for the next twelve months. The partnership follows an internal nomination process and underscores the firm's commitment to mental health and wellbeing for both its staff and the wider public.
SAMH has been dedicated to mental health support in Scotland since 1923, currently operating approximately 70 services in various communities. The collaboration will see DM Hall employees participate in a series of fundraising activities, monthly wellbeing sessions, and dedicated volunteering days.
As part of the agreement, every colleague at DM Hall will be offered the opportunity to volunteer one day per year to assist SAMH. This involvement may include supporting wellbeing sessions, helping with local activities, or taking part in specific fundraising events.
Stephanie Stewart, Marketing Manager at DM Hall, recently visited "The Nook" in Glasgow—SAMH's first walk-in mental health and wellbeing hub. She commented: "We are pleased to name SAMH as one of our new corporate charity partners. Its work aligns closely with our ongoing efforts to support good mental health within DM Hall and across the communities where we operate. As part of this commitment, every DM Hall colleague will have the opportunity to volunteer to work one day a year with SAMH, whether that involves helping with activities, supporting wellbeing sessions or participating in fundraising events. We are looking forward to making a meaningful and positive contribution."
Michelle Forfar, from SAMH's Corporate Partnerships team, welcomed the news, stating: "We are delighted that DM Hall has chosen SAMH as its new charity partner. We appreciate the firm's commitment to promoting mental health, through volunteering staff time as well as raising both money and awareness. The funds raised through our partnership will go towards vital mental health support services in communities throughout Scotland. We look forward to working closely together over the next year to promote better wellbeing for all."
The Nook facility provides a welcoming environment for adults, families, and young people from the age of ten. Open seven days a week, it offers visitors the chance to speak with skilled SAMH staff and trainee psychologists, access practical resources, and attend various workshops and wellbeing activities.
Throughout the year-long partnership, DM Hall intends to draw inspiration from the work delivered by SAMH's national network to foster a culture of better wellbeing across its own operations.
