Pat Munro has enhanced the operational capacity of its Dalmagarry Quarry, located south of Inverness, following the installation of a new 80-tonne modular weighbridge.
The investment, delivered by John White & Son Ltd Precision Weighing Solutions, is designed to meet the growing demand for aggregate supplies required for major regional infrastructure, specifically the ongoing A9 dualling works between Tomatin and Moy.
The new 16m x 4m system was selected to handle high volumes of heavy vehicle traffic, including articulated and tipper trucks operating at maximum load. By ensuring accurate data capture and high durability, the weighbridge allows for increased site throughput within the demanding quarry environment.
The modular design of the unit facilitated a rapid installation and commissioning process, ensuring that day-to-day activities at Dalmagarry remained largely unaffected during the upgrade. Engineered for heavy-duty use, the bridge provides easy access for maintenance and inspection while being built to withstand harsh site conditions.
Daniel Johns, Commercial Manager, Quarries, at Pat Munro (Alness) Ltd., said: "The new weighbridge at Dalmagarry Quarry provides the capacity, accuracy and reliability we need to support both day-to-day operations and upcoming infrastructure works. It's an important investment in the efficiency of the site."
Joyce Onuonga, Managing Director of John White & Son Ltd, added: "Working with Pat Munro on this project was significant for both teams. It showed how a collaborative approach can deliver a flexible, modular and affordable weighbridge solution that meets real operational needs, providing long-term value and reliability."
