Algo Construction has announced a capital investment exceeding £1 million to bolster its operational capability and improve service delivery.
The centrepiece of this investment is the addition of a new Scania lorry to its fleet, a move designed to enhance the firm's internal logistics and reduce dependency on external haulage.
The fleet expansion is part of a broader programme of upgrades that includes the replacement of several company vans and the acquisition of new plant and machinery. By increasing its in-house transport capacity, Algo aims to move equipment and materials between sites more efficiently, allowing for tighter project coordination and faster response times across its Scottish developments.
Beyond logistical flexibility, the investment focuses on modernising the firm's technical resources. Newer plant and vehicles are expected to:
• Minimise Downtime: Reliable, well-maintained machinery reduces the risk of on-site delays.
• Improve Sustainability: Modern engines offer better fuel efficiency and lower emissions, aligning with the industry's push toward a lower carbon footprint.
• Enhance Safety: The latest equipment ensures teams on the ground are working with tools that meet the highest modern standards.
A spokesperson for Algo noted that the investment represents a commitment to "doing the job properly," ensuring that the right tools are in the right place at the right time. For clients, these upgrades translate into greater reliability and confidence in the firm's ability to hit delivery milestones consistently.
Based at the Algo Business Centre in Perth, the company has recently seen a strong financial rebound, reporting a pre-tax profit of £1.5 million for the year ending June 2024. This latest £1m expenditure underscores a strategy of reinvesting profits into the business's core infrastructure to support long-term growth and operational excellence.
