Procast Group, a leading principal contractor, has secured the national title of SME Employer of the Year at the Scottish Apprenticeship Awards.
The Hamilton-based firm was honoured at a ceremony held in Glasgow on Thursday, 26 February, for its sustained investment in the next generation of construction and retrofit professionals.
The Scottish Apprenticeship Awards celebrate the vital contributions made by apprentices, employers, and learning providers to the Scottish economy. Procast Group was specifically recognised for its ability to provide high-quality mentorship and structured development pathways for a diverse range of individuals, including school leavers and career changers.
Currently, more than ten per cent of Procast Group's 130-strong workforce are apprentices. The company's apprenticeship programme is designed to strengthen its internal capabilities while directly addressing the widening skills gaps in the construction and innovative multi-trade sectors.
Kirstie Adams, Support Services Director at Procast Group, said: "Winning SME Employer of the Year is a fantastic achievement for Procast Group and, most importantly, a recognition of our apprentices and the integral contribution they make to our business every day.
"We firmly believe apprenticeships are one of the most powerful ways to open doors, creating meaningful opportunities for people from all backgrounds and at different stages of life. We are committed to providing the support and experience needed to build long-term careers. This award win reinforces our commitment to investing in people, supporting them to develop essential practical skills and help close skills gaps across the industry."
With its headquarters in Hamilton and additional offices in Aberdeen, West Lothian, and Dumfries, Procast Group is a market leader in retrofit work and multi-trade contracting projects across Scotland and the North of England.
