A strategic partnership between fluid management specialist OSSO and metering technology manufacturer ProMinent UK and Ireland has exceeded £2 million in value.
The collaboration centres on the WTS20, an automated water treatment system specifically designed to help the construction industry navigate increasingly stringent environmental regulations.
The WTS20 is a first-of-its-kind solution deployed at scale on UK sites, featuring automated solids proportional dosing and live telemetry. The technology arrives as the sector faces unprecedented scrutiny regarding water quality and discharge standards, particularly following the launch of the Environment Agency's EA2030 strategy in July 2025.
Standard wastewater treatment on construction sites often relies on manual intervention, which can be prone to error—especially during flash flooding or heavy rainfall when water conditions change rapidly. The WTS20 addresses this by integrating ProMinent's precision dosing technology with OSSO's automation expertise. In-feed solids are measured in real time and reagents are adjusted automatically to match flow and solids loading, which prevents under- or over-dosing.
Furthermore, site managers can monitor performance data remotely via an online portal using live telemetry. Once treated, water can be safely discharged on-site, removing the need for expensive tankering and eliminating the risk of pollution fines or reputational damage.
The partnership has already delivered more than 30 units currently active on high-profile infrastructure schemes, including the UK's largest current rail and civil engineering contracts. This demand saw OSSO double its construction sector revenue in the financial year ending in 2025.
Tristan Hughes, Business Unit Manager at OSSO, noted that the Environment Agency is taking necessary steps to address national water challenges and that contractors are under growing pressure to show discharges are treated properly. He stated that the industry needs solutions it can trust and that the WTS20 delivers that through innovation and automation.
Wes Sutton, Managing Director at ProMinent UK & Ireland, added that by bringing ProMinent's dosing expertise together with OSSO's vision, they have created a premium solution that raises the game for water treatment. He noted that the results are already clear on major projects and that there is significant potential ahead.
The EA2030 strategy, which provides the backdrop for this technological shift, focuses on creating resilient water systems and nature recovery, reinforcing the move toward proactive, data-led environmental protection.
