Access Plus Scotland, the nation's largest independent powered access hire firm, has announced a significant investment in its fleet through a strategic partnership with Scot JCB. The move, aimed at streamlining the company's supply chain, reinforces its commitment to providing high-quality equipment and technical support across multiple sectors.
The recent procurement includes a range of JCB Access electric models designed for both internal and external applications. The investment features:
• Two A45EH articulated electric booms.
• Four S4550E electric scissor lifts.
• Four S2646E electric scissor lifts.
• Three S2632E electric scissor lifts.
This diverse range provides Access Plus Scotland with flexible working heights from 19ft up to 45ft. The decision to select JCB was driven by the manufacturer's robust build quality, battery performance, and the comprehensive service support provided by Scot JCB.
Billy Allison, Managing Director of Access Plus Scotland—which is owned by Briggs Equipment—emphasised the importance of equipment reliability in the hire sector. He stated: "We were looking to streamline our current suppliers and Scot JCB, being a strategic partner, supplying quality advice, quality technical and service support, plus the latest technologically advanced equipment, made it an easy decision for us as we continue to invest in our fleet."
A core focus for the company remains "Safety First," and the business is currently exploring further safety technologies, including anti-entrapment aids, to meet increasing demand for enhanced site safety.
The partnership has already demonstrated high performance levels, with a focus on minimising downtime for customers. Mr Allison added: "The machines have performed very well and when we have had any issues, the service response has been fantastic. Scot JCB have been fantastic at providing exceptional customer service, when requested but also being proactive in supplying any relevant information to us before we even know we need it."
As Access Plus Scotland continues to expand its independent fleet, the collaboration with Scot JCB is expected to play a central role in the company's growth and its mission to maintain consistent equipment availability for its client base.
