Chrysalis Homes Breaks Ground On Dargavel Village Development

Chrysalis Homes has officially commenced construction on Waterside, a new high-specification retirement development located within the Dargavel Village masterplan in Bishopton.

The housebuilder has appointed Paisley-based Clark Contracts to lead the construction of the collection, which comprises 49 luxury apartments designed specifically for independent older residents.

The development features five distinct one- and two-bedroom apartment designs. In line with modern energy-efficiency standards, each unit is designed for low maintenance and includes fully fitted kitchens with integrated appliances, dedicated utility space, and fitted wardrobes. The architectural design leverages the site's natural surroundings, with several apartments featuring balconies overlooking the adjacent loch and parkland. Furthermore, the scheme includes two units specifically designed for full wheelchair accessibility.

Once completed, the day-to-day management and lifestyle services at Waterside will be overseen by specialists McCarthy & Stone. The service model includes a dedicated House Manager and a programme of organised social activities, aimed at fostering a community environment while supporting independent living.

Linda Docherty, Sales Director at Chrysalis Homes, highlighted the strategic intent of the project: "Our apartments are specifically designed to support independent older residents who, perhaps want to live closer to their families within Dargavel Village, or seek an easy to run home. Our House Manager provides peace of mind to deal with any queries that might pop up and people can be as social as they like. Each apartment is low maintenance and energy efficient so there's no need to worry about upkeep."

The appointment of Clark Contracts brings significant regional expertise to the project. The contractor will work collaboratively with the Chrysalis team to ensure the delivery of high-quality finishes across the diverse apartment styles. Michael Scanlan, Director at Clark Contracts, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: "It is fantastic to have been appointed by Chrysalis Homes to complete the construction of this development in Dargavel. We are looking forward to working collaboratively with the team to deliver this high-quality living space."

Work is currently underway on-site following a formal sod-cutting ceremony, with the project scheduled for completion in the Autumn.
