Construction Starts On 140 Homes At Newmachar's Cairnton Rise

Work has commenced on Persimmon Homes North Scotland's Cairnton Rise development in Newmachar, marking the start of a 140-home neighbourhood in Aberdeenshire.

Jason Stewart, Commercial Director at Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, joined Persimmon's Sales Director for the North Scotland region, Tanya Fowlie, at the Corseduick Road site to mark the milestone and view the areas where construction is now under way.

The project, which received unanimous backing from the Garioch Area Committee, will deliver energy‑efficient homes, including 35 affordable properties delivered in partnership with a local housing association. As building progresses, the scheme is expected to sustain up to 125 jobs and create apprenticeship opportunities for young people across the region.

The start on site represents a significant investment in Newmachar and the wider North-east, adding to Persimmon's growing footprint in Aberdeenshire, which includes the Strabathie Shores development near Blackdog.

Jason Stewart, Commercial Director at Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, said "Breaking ground at Cairnton Rise is a significant moment for Newmachar – of which I am a proud resident – and the wider North-east. Developments of this scale not only provide much-needed homes, but also generate jobs, apprenticeships and wider economic activity that benefit the entire region.

"It's positive to see work now underway and investment being made that will support both local families and local businesses."

Tanya Fowlie, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes North Scotland, added "Starting construction at Cairnton Rise is an exciting step forward. These 140 homes will provide high-quality, energy-efficient options for a range of buyers, including affordable housing for local people.

"We're proud to be investing in Newmachar and to be creating jobs and training opportunities as we build this new community from the ground up."
