BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, will undertake excavation to remove material affecting the drainage system beside the A83 at Loch Restil on Monday 16 February.

The activity is scheduled between 8am and 6pm and is planned to be completed within a single day.

For safety, the eastbound lane of the A83 and the adjacent layby will be closed, with roadworkers manually operating stop/go signs to manage traffic through the work area.

Consultation has been carried out with relevant stakeholders ahead of the works to advise on the traffic management arrangements and help minimise disruption.

Steven Taylor, BEAR Scotland's North West Planned Maintenance Manager said: "The excavation of the material that is blocking the channel alongside the A83 at Loch Restil will restore the capacity of the drainage system and improve surface water management in the area.

"Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements."
