Inch Cape Strengthens Supply Chain Ties At Major Glasgow Wind Event

Inch Cape Offshore Wind used the recent Scottish Renewables' Offshore 2026 conference in Glasgow to reinforce its commitment to local industry, hosting more than 40 one-to-one sessions with current and prospective suppliers.

The two-day event, held in late January, served as a vital platform for the project team to connect firms with emerging opportunities in construction, as well as long-term operations and maintenance.

The project's 'Meet-the-Buyer' Business Booth returned to the flagship event, providing a direct gateway for businesses to explore future work packages. Following the successful sessions, the Inch Cape team has already initiated follow-up discussions with key contacts to progress these initial introductions into potential commercial partnerships.

Beyond the networking hub, Inch Cape also led a specialized panel session designed to provide a realistic outlook on the complexities of offshore wind construction. George Cobb of Inch Cape provided a status update on the 1.1GW development, outlining the roadmap for upcoming milestones.

The panel featured a diverse range of Scottish-based suppliers who shared their practical experiences and strategies for success within the project. Contributing speakers included Patrick Bastiaanse from N-Sea, Bob Porter of Motive Offshore Group, David Darr from OEG, and Callum Hogan representing Forth Projects and Forth Ports.

The 1.1GW Inch Cape project, located 15km off the Angus coast, is currently one of Scotland's largest offshore wind developments. Once operational, it is expected to generate enough renewable energy to power the equivalent of half of all homes in Scotland.
