DM Hall Strengthens Partnership With New Appointment In Edinburgh

DM Hall, the prominent independent firm of Chartered Surveyors, has announced the promotion of Charlie Barrett to the role of Partner, effective from 1 January 2026.

Operating from the firm's Edinburgh head office on Corstorphine Road, Mr Barrett has been a key figure in the residential team, driving growth across the city and surrounding regions. His career with DM Hall began as a graduate in 2014, following a robust academic background that included an HNC in Construction, an HND in Architectural Technology, and a degree in Building Surveying.

After a period of gaining further experience with another Scottish practice and in England, he returned to DM Hall in late 2020. Beyond his residential expertise, he has taken a leading role in modernising the firm's graduate and training programme—a pillar of DM Hall's long-term strategic growth.

Reflecting on his appointment, Charlie Barrett said: "With its 129-year-old legacy as one of Scotland's leading independent firms of chartered surveyors, DM Hall is widely recognised as a highly professional, dynamic organisation and I am honoured to be invited to join the Partnership. I look forward hugely to contributing to the firm's continuing success and the ongoing development of our young and able team."

John McHugh, Managing Partner of DM Hall, praised the appointment, noting that Mr Barrett has already made an "invaluable contribution" to the Edinburgh residential business.

"Individual talent, achievement, effort and commitment will always be recognised and rewarded at DM Hall, and the same pathways and opportunities remain open and achievable for everyone within the firm," Mr McHugh added. "We take great pleasure in welcoming Charlie to the DM Hall Partnership and look forward to what we fully expect will be an outstanding contribution from him to the continuing success of the firm now and in the years to come."
