SGN has appointed Chris Murray MBE as an independent non-executive director.
Murray brings more than 45 years' experience in the UK energy sector, spanning gas and electricity transmission and distribution.
He has served as CEO on three occasions and held senior posts across network operations, asset management, health and safety, and customer engagement. His responsibilities have included regulation, commercial strategy, organisational change and stakeholder management.
He has also spent over 25 years advising boards as a non-executive director. Murray currently chairs Water Resources South-East and Northern Powergrid's Independent Stakeholder Group, and previously chaired National Grid Gas plc, National Grid Electricity plc and National Grid Gas Holdings.
Beyond his executive and advisory roles, he is a trustee of the MS Society and the Leicestershire Hospice, and was awarded an MBE for services to skills development and charitable causes.
