AC Whyte has been appointed by the City of Edinburgh Council to deliver the Moat & Hutchison House Roof Replacement project, strengthening their ongoing collaboration.
The £1.42 million contract will run over a 20-week programme, with work scheduled to start in early February. The scheme will renew the flat roofing systems on the two high-rise residential buildings as part of the council's continued investment in maintaining and upgrading its housing stock.
The scope includes removing existing roof coverings, repairing and preparing the mastic asphalt substrate, installing new insulation and a modern bituminous flat roofing system, and carrying out associated drainage works. These upgrades are intended to enhance long-term performance, durability and weather resistance.
This is the second high-rise flat roof renewal AC Whyte has undertaken for the City of Edinburgh Council in recent years, following the successful completion of works at Holyrood and Lochview in 2025. Building on that experience, the programme reflects ongoing trust in AC Whyte to deliver complex refurbishment works safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
AC Whyte said it is proud to continue working in partnership with the council, supporting investment that protects homes, improves building performance and benefits residents across the city.
